1ST ANNUAL SCOUT WEEKEND
The Cumberland Trail Conference is sponsoring our 1st Annual Scout Weekend May 16-18, 2008. The scouts will be involved in constructing and maintaining the Cumberland Trail, which is a state park/hiking trail that extends from Chattanooga to the Cumberland Gap. There will be the opportunity for five and ten mile hikes on Sunday in the Sundquist and Frozen Head area.
The campout will be held at Nick’s Creek Camp on the New River in Campbell County, TN. The site will be hosting a primitive style campout with no running water and no electricity. Port-a-Potty facilities will be provided by the Cumberland Trail Conference.
Fishing will be available on the river, so bring your rod and reel.
You will be able to drive your car to the campsite so pack comfortably.
Scouts must provide their own camping gear, food for the weekend ,water, water bottles, day pack, and transportation. Long pants and boots are required for trail building. All tools for trail work will be provided by the Cumberland Trail Conference.
